About the Inaugural Story
ARCemedes, Qwilla and the Ocean of AI for Young Learners is the first story in the ARCemedes series. It introduces learners to a narrative world where questions are welcomed, guidance is thoughtful, and learning unfolds through curiosity rather than pressure. The story is designed to help readers of all ages explore judgment, responsibility, and responsible AI use through imagination, conversation, and reflection.
Rather than telling children what to think about artificial intelligence, this story helps prepare them for a world shaped by powerful tools by strengthening how they think. Its connections to AI are intentionally quiet, allowing understanding to grow through experience, imagination, and gentle reflection before concepts are formally explained.
In Where the Kelp Glows Gold, readers meet ARCemedes, a curious young explorer, along with Qwilla, Crinkle, and Tarro. Together they introduce the learning rhythm that guides the series forward: pause, shape the question, listen carefully, and choose wisely. The story establishes the foundational world, characters, and reflective posture that later stories and companion materials can build upon.
For Families
This inaugural story is especially suited for young learners, families, educators, and guides who want a calm and thoughtful entry point into AI-era learning. Optional companion guides and workbooks are described in the book for adults and classroom use who want to explore the themes more explicitly without changing the story itself.
